“It happened because it had to happen. This is destiny”.
Do you remember how many times you have said these lines in your lifetime? Probably not, but never mind…..you were destined to forget it! In the 22 years that I have lived, I have faced many ups and downs. Loved those ups, hated those downs, and even wished ‘it’ had never happened to me, that something better would have taken place. But then again, once it was over and when I recollected the whole thing, everything fell into place as if they were interwoven… Now I realize that it all happened because it had to happen. This is destiny.
Destiny is an unproved theory in which most of us do not believe because it has no scientific basis. Let us think the other way round. Science says you cannot prove anything unless you have complete information. Now, pick up any event from your life and recollect every action in sequence. What do you realize? That if a single ‘step ‘would have been missed, the whole thing wouldn’t have turned out the same way. What if you had not attended the birthday party of that friend who irritated you? How would you have met the person you now wish you had met a long time before? What? You didn’t meet anyone? But what about the delicious chicken curry her mom made which you gobbled up like a beast. So what if you didn’t get an auto that day from Lajpat nagar to PGDAV? Didn’t you enjoy the rickshaw ride? All I want to say is that don’t miss out on the finer details, they carry credit! In the end you will be satisfied; if you are not then I should say the chapter is not over yet...or you don’t have the complete information yet. Your destiny has something in store for you; just keep looking through the window! However, that doesn’t mean that your trials and efforts are wasted if destiny already has something in store for you.
Destiny can describe your past but cannot predict your future. I have never heard a sentence in future perfect tense with the word ‘destiny’ in it. Have you ever heard anyone saying, “You ARE destined to become a journalist”, but you might have heard, “You WERE destined to become a journalist”. Ultimately, it is you who decides what you are going to become. You work accordingly, and the outcome is your destiny. You lead, destiny follows. There are no rules, no regulations; the only rule is that “You rule!!” Destiny is flexible; every bit of it is mutable. However, you and your destiny are both independent; you can change it, but you cannot create it. It has definitely something in store for you… it always does!
